Wine and hotpot-specialists Big JJ Seafood Hotpot are finally closing their doors during Chinese New Year next year, with a move to a new and larger Central location.
After initially announcing their closure in March 2025, the restaurant reneged on their original plans, instead extending their tenure in the original Lan Kwai Fong location, much to the joy of their fans.
The restaurant noted structural issues with the building and a need to expand their kitchen to accommodate for more customers as reasons to move to another location in Central.
For those wishing to enjoy Big JJ’s classic flavours between Chinese New Year and March 2026, the expected date of their reopening, you can head to BaseHall to try their sizzling meat plates out of their catering stall.
The soon departure of Big JJ Seafood Hotpot from Wo On Lane marks a downfall for the Lan Kwai Fong area street as more restaurants depart from the once-bustling strip of Korean, Taiwanese, and Chinese restaurants.
