Possibly the only restaurant in Hong Kong offering a taste of the reclusive North Korea, Dae Yeop opens in Causeway Bay with a traditional dish originating from the capital.
The Pyongyang naemmyeon (HKD98) finds itself on the menu at this Korean barbecue and live noodle restaurant, the first location of the South Korea-based chain to open in Hong Kong.
The noodle recipe consists of buckwheat and typically a clear beef broth, with Hanwoo beef slides, boiled egg, and sliced pickled vegetables. It is served cold, with the broth simmered from the trimmings, bone, and meat of Hanwoo beef.
Dae Yeop was founded by Netflix Culinary Class War star chef Ko Seok-hyeon. The restaurant also serves a fortune beef platter (HKD400) and pork rib with sauce (from HKD280) amongst other meaty pickings.
