Back in March 2021, we were thrilled to hear of the opening of the Hong Kong outpost of Japan’s Cupnoodles Museum at China Hong Kong City in Tsim Sha Tsui.

The brainchild of Japanese instant-noodle powerhouse Nissin Foods, the 10,000-square-foot Hong Kong museum features several of the most popular DIY experiences from Osaka and Yokohama, My Cupnoodles Factory and Demae Iccho Factory, where guests can design their very own instant noodles, from soup base, to toppings, to packaging.

Now, after almost five years of operation in Hong Kong, the museum will shut its doors on Jan. 11. However, the website teases of a possible return of the concept in a different format, stating that they “are prepping for the next phase of development.”
