Nothing says winter comfort food like a bubbling pop of cheesy fondue.

Diners seeking out this Swiss-style delicacy in Hong Kong can look forward to the return of Black Sheep RestaurantsChalet des Alpes, a funky après-ski-themed dining experience landing along the Central–Mid-Levels escalators this festive season.

From Dec. 2 through Jan. 15, the immersive two-storey Shelley Street pop-up space will be transformed into a traditional wooden Alpine chalet, this year complete with a dedicated games room (shotski, anyone?) and private dining room.

The centrepiece of Chalet des Alpes is the fondue-focused menu (from HKD1,088 pp), priced to include three free-flow beverage options. No matter which of the free-flow packages is selected, a glass of mulled wine sets the stage.

In addition to the main event of fondue moitié-moitié, classic Swiss fondue made with equal parts Gruyère and Emmental cheeses, diners can dig into plates of mache mimosa salad, charcuterie, and raclette. The dark chocolate tart is the final temptation to be dished out.

Reservations can be made for dinner on Tuesday through Sunday. Chalet des Alpes will also be open for lunch on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.
