America’s favourite frozen dairy chain Dairy Queen is coming Hong Kong-side next year as the brand expands across greater China and the Middle East.
In news first reported by Inside Retail, the multinational company announced yesterday (Nov. 19) plans to open 187 restaurants across Asia, including stores opening in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan for the first time, and expansions in the Middle East.
Shanghai Dairy Queen Limited is tasked with entering the Hong Kong and Macau markets, with 60 and 12 locations planned for each city respectively. The brand joins Auntie Anne’s and Jamba as new American fast-food chains coming to Hong Kong in the 2020s.
“Entering new markets and growing existing markets is a key component of our growth strategy,” says Nicolas Boudet, COO International at International Dairy Queen, in yesterday’s press release shared with media.
“We’re pleased to add to our footprint and to do so with experienced franchise ownership groups focused on operating successful restaurants with employees that deliver on our mission to create positive memories for all who touch DQ.”
Dairy Queen currently operates in China, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Brunei, and the Philippines.
